Tecumseh Councilwoman Stephanie Harmon held the breaking vote on Monday in Tecumseh City Council’s decision to purchase the Hamblin Company building at 109 E. Logan St. The company closed in October after 45 years in business.

My grandfather, Ralph Sytsma, was among the second wave of soldiers to land on Omaha Beach on D-Day. This was all I knew, and as a child it meant very little to me. My grandfather never spoke of the war. I had a vague understanding of what it was.
