On December 23 Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed House Bill 4294 to address the state’s substitute teacher shortage. The bill temporarily allows staff members such as secretaries, paraprofessionals, and others to work as substitute teachers until the end of the current school year.

On the same night Superintendent Rick Hilderley reported to the school board on the recent threat made by a student regarding the December 4 winter formal dance, the board voted to permanently expel another student for bringing an axe to school in early November.

At the October 20, 2021 meeting of the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners, the board voted to purchase the former Tecumseh Products property. The purchase has been completed and the property is now owned by Lenawee County.
