A plain brick wall at the west side entrance to downtown Tecumseh will soon be getting some color in the form of a mural depicting some of the best things about the city, thanks to the owners of the building, a committee from Community Arts of Tecumseh (CAT), and some generous donors.

Anyone driving north on Evans Street from downtown Tecumseh or visiting Tecumseh’s Farmers Market on a Saturday may have noticed a new mural on the wall of a building owned by Tecumseh attorney David Stimpson.

A committee of artists and downtown merchants have selected a mural to be painted, starting as early as next week, on an unpainted cinderblock wall on a building that faces the Market on Evans.

Collaboration between the Downtown Development Authority and the art department at Tecumseh High School has led to a 16’ x 8’ mural for downtown Tecumseh.
