A winter chill has settled in Michigan, bringing with it many issues that come from living in the frigid cold. The National Weather Service predicts the temperatures for this week will stay well below freezing, along with wind chills in the single digits or below zero.

Frigid weather and heavy snowfall amounts bring special challenges to city service providers and local businesses. Keeping streets cleared of snow, water pipes flowing, fires at bay and furnaces running gives those in charge of such things some extra work during the winter.
