Thankful for Great Start Readiness Program

To the Editor,I am a parent of a child at ABC Grow and Learn on Occidental Highway. He is in the GSRP [Great Start Readiness Program] there and I have a few things to say about the program and the staff working the program. I want to thank the teachers he sees everyday. The connection my son has with his three teachers is very incredible! They love hearing what the children may have done during the day, they listen to their concerns, and they help the kids figure out a solution to a dispute. My son has blossomed so much since the beginning of the preschool program! I have to admit I thought my son was way too young, but to see how well he has adjusted and surpassed my expectations for the school year. It amazes me everyday when he starts spelling words, now sounding out words, and today, he looked at me and read a sign that was on the side of the road! I am so proud of the teachers at GSRP in Tecumseh!I hope they are granted more funding and can continue preparing our youngsters for kindergarten.Jennifer TalicskaTecumseh
