Tecumseh’s Bryan, Foss to play in All-Star game, several Indians honored

TECUMSEH — The 2016 Michigan High School Softball Coach’s Association (MHSSCA) All-Star games will be held at Central Michigan University’s Margo Jonker Stadium on Wednesday, July 20 with two Tecumseh players competing.
Tecumseh graduates Tyffani Bryan and Maggie Foss were both named to a Division II All-Star team and will play at 11:30 a.m. Completed rosters listing coaches are not available until after July 4.
During her final high school season, Bryan was a powerhouse at the plate for Tecumseh as the Indians’ third batter. The Indians’ third baseman broke the school’s career home run record with 20. Bryan posted a .466 batting average with 61 hits including 14 doubles, eight home runs, 52 RBI and 57 runs scored.
She signed a letter of intent in March to attend Concordia University and play softball with the Cardinals.
Foss, the Indians’ lead off batter, posted a .415 batting average with 56 hits, 14 doubles, one home run, 34 RBI, and 49 runs scored. She played in the outfield for Tecumseh.
MHSSCA also announced its All-State First Team selections, which included Tecumseh’s Tyffani Bryan (3B) and Danielle Nowak (SS), who will be a senior next season. Foss received an honorable mention to the All-State team.
Bryan, Foss and teammate Kylie Perkins were each named to the Academic All-State team.
At the end of the season the Indians had several make the All-Region Team, including Bryan, Foss, Nowak and pitcher Kayla Wild. In March, Wild committed to attending Capital University in Columbus, Ohio to play on its softball team.
The four Tecumseh players were also named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) White Division’s First Team.
Honorable Mentions went to Tecumseh’s Monica Meger (1B), Perkins and Paige Otto (C).
Tecumseh’s All District Team members included Bryan, Foss, Nowak, Perkins (DP) and Wild.
Honorable Mentions went to Meger and Otto.
