Stewart Spicer

Stewart Spicer of Ann Arbor, Mich., formerly of Tecumseh, Mich., at the age of 92, died January 17 at Arbor Hospice. Mr. Spicer was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in Jan. of 2005 by University of Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.He participated in many Alzheimer's Research studies along with being a part of the Memory and Aging Project Brain Bank. Mr. Spicer worked for Ford Motor Co. for twenty-eight years. He retired in 1982 and moved to Florida. Mr. Spicer is survived by three daughters, Pam McCombs, Belleville, Mich., Lorrie Arnett, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Colleen Armstrong, Tecumseh Mich.; one son, Tim Spicer, Tecumseh, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandkids and one great-great-grand daughter; and one sister Leitha Bondy, Traverse City, Mich. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Loretta (Punches) Spicer, four sisters, and five brothers. A memorial service is planned for June at Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, Mich. Memorials may be made in Stewart’s memory to the University of Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Arbor Hospice on Oak Valley, Ann Arbor, Mich. Cremation arrangements by Nie Funeral Home in Ann Arbor, Mich.
