Steven Andrew Flanders

Steven Andrew Flanders, age 59, of Raisin Township, passed away August 18, 2016.

He was born September 28, 1956 in Hartford, Conn., the son of William and Barbara (Cole) Flanders.

On April 12, 1980 he married Cathy Jo Frank. She survives.

Steve was a graduate of Tecumseh High School, Class of 1974 and attended Ferris State University. He was employed at Anderson Distributing, Jackson, Mich., as a beer and wine salesman for 34 years. Steve’s family was his life. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and friends, camping, playing sports and coaching in the local community.

In addition to his wife, Cathy Jo “C.J.”, Steve is survived by his children, Jason (Courtney Sitarz) Flanders of Brooklyn. Kelly Flanders of Tecumseh and Scott Flanders of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Avery Flanders, Braely Flanders, Kendyl Byers, and Sylis Byers; mother, Barbara Cole of Hudson; siblings, Kathy Havens of Adrian, Maureen (Steve) Huss of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., Robin (Mark Little) Flanders of Brooklyn, Wendell “Herm” Cole of Lansing, Andrew Cole of Dexter; brothers-in-law, Erik, Mark, Randal and George (Megan); sister-in-law, Alison (Tom) Jones; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, William; stepfather, Wendell Cole; sister, Jo Anne Figoli and mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Leonard Frank.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Tom Hawkins “Preacher Tom” officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 2016 from 3 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
