Stacy Catherine Adams

Surrounded by loved ones, Stacy Catherine Adams, age 44, passed away peacefully at her home in Chelsea, Mich. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. Stacy was born on November 23, 1974, in Ypsilanti, Mich., the daughter of Mary (Fenimore) Dapprich and Frederick Dapprich. She married Chelsea native, Jason Adams, now aged 45, in 2004, and their son, Cooper, was born in 2008.

A 1992 graduate from Tecumseh High School, Stacy went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1996. She then began a successful career in sales, most recently with Taylor Communications. Stacy devoted her life to others by volunteering for multiple organizations, among them St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital, Susan G. Komen, Chelsea School District, and by simply supporting the many who leaned on her.

As a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a friend, Stacy truly celebrated every moment to the fullest and was always up for the next adventure. Some of her hobbies included skiing, music festivals, lake life, hopping a flight to anywhere, family vacations in Seaside Heights, N.J., and opening her door to friends. By far her greatest joy was enjoying time with her son, especially watching him on the athletic field. Inherently selfless, she in her final days was still preparing family adventures so her husband and son could find joy in the future.

Stacy is survived by her husband, son, and father, as well as older brother, Rick, and his wife, Wendy of West Bloomfield, older sister, Michelle of Blue Ridge Georgia, and niece, Madeline of Chelsea. She is welcomed in heaven by her mother, who passed in 2013.

Visitation for Stacy will be held at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 from 5-8 p.m., and on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the American Legion, 1700 Ridge Road, Chelsea immediately following services.

Memorial donations can be made to the family via check to Jason Adams, 142 Cavanaugh Lake Road, Chelsea, MI 48118 or through the “Jay and Stacy Adams Family” GoFundMe. Her light will forever shine within us all and the lessons she unknowingly taught will never be forgotten.
