Salvatore “Sal, Sam, Skip” Anthony Licavoli
Salvatore “Sal, Sam, Skip” Anthony Licavoli passed out of this life on Friday, July 7, 2017 as he entered it, dramatically. After a months long battle with complications due to a hip fracture, Sal bravely fought right to his last breath, but showed his greatest strength in the time leading up to that moment in his ability to make people feel special. The words most commonly applied to Sal were: funny, sweet, generous, patient and charming. Most remember his knack for telling long yarns and his rich bass singing voice. We who loved him best will miss his valiant heart, his love of gab and his sheer joy of life.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Allison (Jeffrey); son, Tony (Melissa); grandchildren, Kyle, Dominic and Lucy; brothers, Christopher (Linnaea) and Dominic (Kimberly) and sister Marisa (Bill).
Services for Sal will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 12 from 3-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes where a prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Cremation will follow after the service.
