Rufina M. Seal

Rufina M. Seal, age 94 of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Hospice of Lenawee, Hospice Home.  She was born January 19, 1924 in Napoleon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Kruse) Von Deylen.           

Rufina retired from Fisher Body in Tecumseh in 1984 and was a member of the UAW.  She was a longtime member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Country Club.  She enjoyed playing golf, traveling the world with her husband and spending time at their second home in Florida.  Rufina’s family was very important to her and she loved being with them.

Rufina is survived by her husband, Walter; a daughter, Karen Gottschalk Concannon of Saline; a son, Gary (Debi) Gottschalk of Stuart, Fla.; a step daughter, Lori (John) Faulkner of Blissfield; stepson, Michael (Catherine) Seal of Tecumseh; two sisters Valeta Barton and Elvera (Richard) Koder both of Wauseon, Ohio; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Von Deylen of Napoleon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Kyle (Kendra) Concannon, Lisa (Ben) Rader and Meredith Concannon; nine step-grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Deer, Melissa and Jenny Tilton, Gordon (Terri) Seal, Marty (Kirsten) Seal, Amy (Justin) Long, Jonathon (Niki) Faulkner, William (Alley) Faulkner and Margaret (Kyle) Timmins, and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eldon Gottschalk; a daughter, Deborah (Seal) Tilton and a brother, Harold Von Deylen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Pastor Gordon Peterson officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial in Brookside Cemetery will be at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018  from 2-5 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
