Rosann Marguerite Konz

Rosann Marguerite Konz, age 30, of Tecumseh, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, at home surrounded by her loved ones.Rosann was born July 3, 1984 in Toledo, Ohio and resided in Tecumseh, Mich. Rosann graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2003 then continued her education at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she graduated in 2008. She received her teaching certificate from Siena Heights University in 2010 and completed her student teaching at Sutton Elementary School where she also had attended kindergarten.In Rosann’s 30 years on this earth, her family was always a top priority. She loved to go camping and wine tasting, especially on the west side of Michigan, where she and her parents spent many enjoyable summers. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking, especially for family gatherings. Her passion was teaching and she loved to create projects for her students at Pathways, as well as her nieces and nephews. She was an avid reader and when not reading her own books would read aloud with her nieces and nephews.She was involved throughout her college career with the Catholic Life Club and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Adrian.Her strong faith, hopeful outlook and dedication to family was always evident during her valiant battle with cancer for the last few years, and she was extremely grateful to the friends, family and community who supported her throughout, especially with the benefit dinners, cards, notes and prayers. Rosann will be remembered especially for her fighting spirit and uplifting smile which she showed until the very end.She is survived by her parents, Randy and Ann Konz; brothers, Jason (Amy) Konz of Adrian, Benjamin (Katie) Konz of Tecumseh and Michael (Beth) Konz of Chicago; her nieces, Kelsey Konz of Chicago, Kassidy, Katelyn, Kennedy and Kiera Konz of Adrian; her nephews, Austen and Zachery Konz of Tecumseh; her grandmother, Gladys Wilkey; and her Godparents, Randy and Rose Barbre.She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents James and Regina McDonell; her grandfathers, Leo Konz and Ross Wilkey; and her adopted grandparents, Gene and Maryann Froelich.Visitations was held at Handler Funeral Home, 313 W. Pottawatamie St. Tecumseh, Mich., on Monday, Sept. 8 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday Sept. 9, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with a rosary vigil at 8. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 305 Division St. Adrian, Mich., with burial at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Maya Indian Missions in Rosann’s name. Condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
