Ronald Richard Wisner

Ronald Richard Wisner, age 83, passed away June 29, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. Ronald was born on August 15, 1931, in Detroit to Gustav and Alice (Graef) Wisner. He graduated from Mackenzie High in Detroit in 1949. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952 till 1954. Ron married Carol Fulton on June 12, 1954, in Santa Ana, Calif. He received a BSME from Lawrence Technological University in 1960. He worked for the Kelviator Division of American Motors from 1949 till 1964. He then worked for Tecumseh Products Company from 1964 till 1994 when he retired as Vice President of Refrigeration Engineering. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Michigan since 1971.Ron was the holder of six U.S. Patents, co-authored the book “Anatomy of Sound” and served on many industrial committees and boards. He was past president of the Central Michigan Chapter of Ashrae, was a member of Ari and the industrial advisory committee Herrick labs at Purdue University. He was a member and past president of the Tecumseh Players, the Tecumseh Fan Club, the church council of Gloria Dei Lutheran, Tecumseh Kiwanis Club, and member of Wit & Wisdom, the Tecumseh County Club and the Lenawee Conservation League.Ron’s hobbies were golf, bowling, pistol shooting, photography, stain glass and woodworking. But he truly loved spending time with his family. Ron is survived by his wife, Carol, daughters; Pamella (Gary) Savercool, Deborah (Robert) Wishart, Karen (Evan) McIntosh, his son, Randolph (Debbie) Wisner, grandchildren; Michael and Jennifer Heidenreich, Karina and Victoria England, McKenzie Zajac, Heather and Ryan Wisner, great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert, and a sister, Jane Bowden.Visitation for Ron will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Tecumseh, Mich., at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the service military honors will be held under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 34 at the church.Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Hospice of Lenawee.
