Ronald ‘Ron’ Frayer

Ronald “Ron” Frayer, age 86, of Clinton, died on March 2, 2015, surrounded by his loving family and with the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. Ron was born April 8, 1928, to Walter and Cora (Osterhout) Frayer in Deerfield Township, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lois Francouer and LaDonna Fox and brother Norman Frayer. On October 21, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart Ardath Gripton. They resided in Britton for 35 years until Ardath’s death in 1986. They had three children Jan (Paul) Seegert, Jim (Laura Preece) Frayer, and Judy Furrow.In 1992, Ron married Teddy Schindler and gained two stepsons, Dan Schindler and Devin (Sheila) Schindler. Ron was blessed with eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Ron worked at the Tecumseh Products for 43 years but at heart he was a farmer and wood worker. He farmed for Dick Bruce of Britton, a dear friend, for many years, which he truly loved. He enjoyed the cottage at Wampler’s Lake, dancing, traveling and most of all his family.According to Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the Britton Congregational Christian Church with Pastor Dick Bruce officiating, with a luncheon to follow. The family will receive friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, Ron requested donations be made to one of his favorite groups: the Britton Congregational Christian Church, the Ridgeway Township Fire Department or Hospice of Lenawee.
