He was born in Wayne, Mich., on April 7, 1933. Richard graduated from Morenci High School and was a member of the 1950 Morenci Bulldogs championship team. He loved telling stories of his football days and his admiration for his coach. He was also a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Sara on June 5, 1954 in Angola, Ind., while in service. He followed in his Dad’s footsteps as a die-cast die maker and tool room supervisor. He retired from Ford Motor Company, Milan Plant, in 1994 and he and Jane retired to Arizona for 15 years, coming back to Michigan to be with family. His greatest love was for his wife and family who gave him unending pride and joy. Richard, “Dick,” could fix anything and didn’t believe in the word can’t. He gave to those who loved him the gift of family, his love, his strong work ethic, and his love of the land.

Per his request cremation has taken place and no formal funeral services will take place. A private family celebration of life is planned for a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Lenawee or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
