Richard Hoover

Richard John Hoover, age 73, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2016. He was born on May 3, 1943 in Saline, Mich., the son of the late John and Ann (Ewanciw) Hoover. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961. On May 25, 1974, he married Diane J. Risch, and she survives.

Richard was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh. Richard enjoyed walking at Hidden Lake Gardens with his Golden Retrievers, he had a passion for classic cars, going to the shows and he owned a couple cars of his own. Richard loved to hunt and going to the casino with his cousin Jerry. He also enjoyed his many trips to Las Vegas with his son, Dean.

Richard is survived by his wife, Diane, of Tecumseh; his sons, Richard (Wanima) Hoover, Jr., of Tecumseh and Dean (Barbara) Hoover of Fruitport, Mich., and many cousins and dear friends.

Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 4-8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Augusta Township, Mich. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hidden Lake Gardens.
