Richard Duane Watkins
Richard Duane Watkins age 87, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Tecumseh, Mich., he was the son of the late Marvin and Goldie Watkins. Dr. Watkins was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and retired from Psychiatry after a long career. He loved to travel the country, especially in his motor home for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Melva Watkins; sons, Rick Watkins and wife Cheryl, Michael Watkins and wife Cynda; daughters, Linda Breznicky, Barb Cross and husband Greg, Judy Leonard and husband Stan and Laura Watkins; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family received friends at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. A funeral service followed at 12 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Entombment will be held at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser St., Georgetown, SC 29440.
