Cherished grandson of the late "Papou" Tony and late "Yaya" Effie Boukis, "Papa" David Bopp, "Mema" Lettie and late "Bepa" Al Garafolo, and "Nanny" JoAnne Bopp. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His family fondly remembers him asking for journals for Christmas so he could record his plans and track his healthy eating habits. He loved playing baseball, so much that when he wasn't playing he supported his brother Brent by attending his baseball games. Nekko enjoyed cooking for everyone in his household and shared his talents in several restaurants. Nekko thrived outdoors – he fished, walked anywhere that he could, and found joy in mowing the lawn on sunny days.

Nekko took pride in his tan and his physical fitness. A lover of music, Nekko enjoyed classic rock, and could often be found listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird, Metallica's version of Turn the Page, the Red Hot Chili Peppers Under the Bridge and Otherside, and Michael Jackson's Billie Jean.
