Myrtie Estelle Noe

Myrtie Estelle Noe, age 95, died on September 13, 2016, at Country Living of Hillsdale. She was cared for by Southern Care Hospice after several years of living with Alzheimer’s. Estelle was born on December 23, 1920 in Marion County, Ala., to William Burl and Effie Belle (Mason) Jeffreys. She was one of eight siblings. Her five brothers and two sisters all preceded her in death.

Estelle helped work the family farm and enjoyed playing basketball before graduating from Hamilton (AL) High School. On November 23, 1941, she married Gerald Willard Noe in Oneonta, Ala. In 1948 they moved to Tecumseh, Mich., where they made their home for over 58 years. Estelle was an avid flower gardener, and along with Gerald, enjoyed maintaining their many fruit trees and large vegetable garden. She could frequently be found cooking or baking something delicious from the produce of their garden. Gerald passed away in 2006 after nearly 65 years of marriage.

Estelle adored all children, but especially the ones in her family, who affectionately knew her as “Granny.” She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Jackie) Noe of Adrian, Mich., and Mark Noe and his family (Sharon, Lisa, Joshua, and Marissa) of Orange City, Fla.; grandchildren, Amy (Seder) Burns and Eric (Serenity) Noe; and great-grandchildren, Summer Noe, Kaeden Noe, and Penelope Burns; and many nieces, nephews and their children.

She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.

A private burial will take place at Lenawee Hills Cemetery, Tecumseh, Mich.
