A project to bring murals to downtown Tecumseh is completed after the installation of three pieces of artwork. Hanging on the side of the Boulevard Market building, the three pieces were selected in 2013 from over 80 entries by a committee of local artists, Downtown Development Authority members, and community residents.

Two murals created by local artist Pat Bogusz measure 7’ x 10’ while one piece by Tecumseh High School graduate Tyler Witt measures 12’ x 9’. Bogusz’s pieces are titled “Beyond the Edge” and “Space Turtle Invasion.” Witt’s piece is titled “Self Portrait.”

The mural project was funded through grants from the Michigan Council of Arts and Cultural Affairs and the Sage Foundation.

The artwork will hang on the building for approximately one year. The murals are part of Art Trail Tecumseh.

The murals were ready to hang several weeks ago, but installation was delayed due to city workers completing sidewalk repairs. The installation was coordinated by  Tim Bock, superintendent of the Tecumseh Department of Public Works.
