Michael L. Jordan

Michael L. Jordan, age 69, of Tecumseh, passed away on April 26, 2017 at ProMedica Bixby Hospital with his family at his side. He was born to the late Dick Jordan and Genevieve (Ostrum) Leach on January 8, 1948 in Tecumseh, Mich. He graduated from Britton Macon High School where he was very active in basketball and football.

Michael worked in sales for the Britton Grain Elevator for 52 years and was a certified Hazardous Materials First Responder. He also was a CPR instructor for Lenawee County through American Red Cross.

Michael was true to his faith, and was introduced to the church by Ron Poch. He was baptized by Pastor Rick Strawcutter and spiritually influenced by Pastor Richard Mortimer.  In his earlier years, Michael enjoyed bowling and billiards. He will undoubtedly be dearly missed.

Michael is survived by his wife, Denise (Sager) Jordan; his children, Michelle Wallace and Dave Jordan, both of Tecumseh, Mich., Melissa Jewell of Britton, Mich., and Michael Jordan Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; he was also a father to his step-children, Bryan (Shannon) Elias of Jackson, Mich., and Zak Elias of Tecumseh, Mich.; he also helped raise Thomas Corey and Nicole Stern, both of Tecumseh, Mich.; his grandchildren, Rochelle Sylvester, Seth Sylvester, Destany Wallace, Tristin Jewell and Addilyn Jordan-Smith; and devoted dachshund Teddy; his two brothers, Ron Jordan and Jerry Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Michael were held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Heart Association or Hickman Cancer Center.
