Marilynn Jean French

Marilynn Jean French, age 90, of Prudenville, Mich., formerly of Tecumseh,  passed away November 9, 2017

at West Branch, Michigan. Marilynn was born June 20, 1927 in Tecumseh, the daughter of Frederick and Sarah Wesloh. She was a graduate of Tecumseh High School and Siena Heights College. On August 12, 1949 she married Junior Gabe French and he preceded  her in death on April 2, 1981.

Marilynn lived in Tecumseh for 37 years where she was a member of the Herrick Hospital Auxillary and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church  serving on the council and also directed the choir. After 40 years of service in sales she retired from Tecumseh Products.  

After retiring she moved to Prudenville and enjoyed golfing and boating. There she was active at St. John Lutheran Churches in Grayling and Houghton Lake.

Marilynn is survived by her children, Stephen (Shirley) French and Valerie (Chuck) Gustafson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Donnie) Duttine, Theresa Ripley, Gabe (Melissa) Watkins, Brian (Cathie) Lewis and Mike Lewis and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Junior, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh  with  Pastor Gordon Peterson officiating. Burial followed in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh.
