Marian Gladys Tucker

Marian Gladys Tucker, age 99, former Tecumseh resident, passed away on July 24, 2016 at her home in Orlando, Fla. She was born on April 7, 1917 in Wyandotte, Mich., the daughter of Albert and Beulah (Reed) Todd. On June 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Virgil C. Tucker in Britton, Mich. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1993.

Marian resided in the Tecumseh area from 1927 until 2006. She was a graduate of Britton High School and Lenawee County Normal. She taught in Lenawee County for three years prior to her marriage. She was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh. She served for seven years on Tecumseh’s Historical Preservation Commission and was a member of many local organizations.

Marian is survived by her children Sherry Bremer of Orlando, Fla., Michael (Suzanne) Tucker of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lance Tucker of Washington, D.C.; her sister Shirley Herrick of Tecumseh; four grandchildren, Susan (Mark) Lowrey of Maitland, Fla., Laura (Paul) Miniotas of Jacksonville, Fla., John (Julia) Tucker of Short Hills, N.J., and Stephen Bremer; and nine great-grandsons. In addition to her husband, Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Emily Skinner, and her brothers Robert Todd and Albert Todd.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Plans for a memorial service will be announced.
