M. Elaine Bartram

M. Elaine Bartram, age 84, passed away on June 29, 2016 in Adrian, Mich.

She was born on April 18, 1932 in Lawrence County, Ill., the daughter of the late Carlos and Ida (Lewis) Whipkey. On August 6, 1952 she married John Bartram in Ill., and they shared 64 loving years together.

Elaine attended the Toledo Medical Educational Center to become a medical assistant, plus one year of Nurses training in St. Louis, Mo. She worked for Fasco, Adrian Chiropractic Center and several years at the Heffron Clinic of Adrian. Elaine was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Tecumseh and was a trained Stephen Minister and active in many church groups. She also was a member of the Wit & Wisdom Club.

Elaine was a trained Medicare Medicaid assistant counselor at the Dept. of Aging after retiring. She loved cats and adopted many. Her favorite pastime was reading. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Elaine is survived by her husband, John, her children; Tracee (Marvin) Anderson of Adrian, Mich., and Mark (Maria) Bartram of Peoria, Ill., grandchildren; Jeremy and Jeff Coulter, Lexie and Savannah Anderson, and Kelly and Ryan Bartram, one great-grandchild; Mateo Coulter, her brother; Bradley (Elizabeth) Whipkey of Hodginsville, Ky., her sisters; Carla Gibson of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Gwen (Ken) Baud of Berea, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

At her request cremation has taken place. Private graveside service will take place at Brookside Cemetery.
