LTC Carl Thomas Every

Carl Thomas Every, 47, passed away at his home in Olympia, Wash., from brain cancer on August 20, 2016.

He was born on May 11, 1969, to William and Norma Jewell Every in Tecumseh, Mich.

Carl graduated Valedictorian from Tecumseh High School in 1987, and the USMA at West Point in 1991. He served the Army in both active and reserve duty until his death, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

He earned his Ranger Tab and received numerous decorations and awards. Carl also earned a Masters of Engineering Management degree from St. Martins College. He was the Pierce County Water Utility Manager and former Principal Engineer for the City of Tacoma, Wash. 

In October 1999, Carl married Janet Kuzmaak in Port Townsend, Wash. 

Carl is survived by his wife Janet, son John, daughters Sara (Sullivan) and Ellie, one grandchild, mother Norma Every, and sisters Cynthia Every, Susan Parish, and Sally Every.

He was predeceased by his father, William Every, and grandparents: Harold and Dorothy Every, and Alfred and Gertrude Jewell.

He loved fishing, scuba diving, boating, hunting, traveling, Boy Scouts, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1984.

A memorial service will be held at Tipton Community Church on Saturday, Sept.10, at 11 am.
