Kermit Edwin Pickell, Jr.

Kermit Edwin Pickell, Jr, age 79, of Britton passed away Monday, June 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 28, 1941, the son of the late Kermit Edwin and Laura Amelia (Davidson) Pickell.  

Kermit retired in 1996 from Consumers Energy after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Ridgeway Cemetery Board and volunteered for the grilling at the Neighbors of Hope. Kermit loved woodworking and spending time outside fishing and golfing. Most of all Kermit loved working on the money pit and having gatherings at the barn with family and friends.

Kermit is survived by his soulmate Marge Monagin of Tecumseh; his children, Chris (Debbie) Pickell of Tecumseh, Ron (Diane) Pickell of Grayling, Shelly (Darwyn) Case of Deerfield and Lisa (Mark) Carr of Tecumseh; two brothers, Pastor Paul (Kay) Pickell of North Adams and Neil (Jan) Pickell of South Branch; 14 grandchildren, Lindsay, Chris Jr, Matthew, R.J., Brianna, Darwyn Jr, Jason, Colby, Tashi, Megan, Paul, Nate, Wyatt and Collin; 16 great-grandchildren; and his soulmate’s children Lori, Jenni, John and her grandchildren, Taylor and Max.  

Visitation for Kermit will be on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 2–8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Ridgeway Cemetery with his brother Pastor Paul Pickell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Neighbors of Hope.
