Joyce LaRue McWilliams

Joyce LaRue McWilliams, age 89, of Britton, passed peacefully away December 3, 2015.

She was born May 5, 1926, in Glen Cove, Texas, the daughter of Morris E. and Lillian (Stinson) Bost. On February 10, 1945 she married Robert W. McWilliams at the Naval Base Chapel in Jacksonville, Florida, and he preceded her in death in December 7, 2001.

She was a resident of Britton for many years. 

LaRue was an Avon representative in the Britton area for 33 years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Britton.

LaRue is survived by her children, Lynda Anderson of Chantilly, Va., Sue Ann (John) Carrizales of Saline, Sheri (Jody) Weisbaum of Sterling, Va., and Richard (Susan) McWilliams of Dexter, Mich; eight loving grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Anderson, Ryan and Alison Carrizales, Kyle Weisbaum and Andrew, Thomas and Katy McWilliams; in-laws, Ben (Patricia) McWilliams; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Robert of 56 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Edna Moore and Venita Bonham and a brother, Joe Bost.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Rev. Mark Zender officiating.  Burial followed in Ridgeway Cemetery, Britton.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 at the funeral home.
