Jonathan Mason Kaufman

Jonathan Mason Kaufman, three years old of Clinton, died unexpectedly on June 28, 2015, and went into the loving arms of Jesus.Jonathan was born June 18, 2012, in Adrian to Derick and Michelle (Doxtader) Kaufman. He was a very loving child and a “buddy” to all who knew him. He loved the family pets, both cats and dogs and especially loved riding his bicycle and giving kisses. According to his mom, he loved to play in the dirt and begged to ride with his dad, Derick, on the family dirt bike. Inside he watched cartoons — especially enjoying Mickey Mouse and drinking gallons of milk, white, but especially chocolate. He could be smiling one second and then “pretend” to give a dirty look the next. Suffice to say in the life of little Jonathan, he was a “keeper” and loved his big brother, Joshua and all of his grandparents as well as his parents. He will be missed by his mommy, daddy and big brother (they called him “Bubby”) all of whom are already suffering from this loss.Besides his parents, Derick and Michelle, and brother, Joshua, survivors include grandparents, Connie Bartig of Jackson, Tonya (Joseph “Joe”) Kaufman of Clinton, Danny (Teri Bowden) of Clinton, Dawn (Brian) Reaume of Horton; great-grandparents Richard Doxtader of Springport, Pat Bowden of Clinton, Larry Kaufman of Saline, Gloria Townsend of Clinton, Florine Bartig of Jackson; his great-great-grandmother, Rita Townsend of Manchester; aunts and uncles, Cheyenne, Aaron and Dakota Kaurman, Christina Bowden-Rodriguez, Amber Dixtader, Jessica Trumble and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and two cousins, Gatlin Fox and Benjamin Rodriguez. Jonathan has certainly gone to heaven where he joins his grandfather, “Papa Doc” (Duane Doxtader), three great-grandfathers, Roland Bartig, Leroy Townsend and “Papa Garland” Bowde; great-grandmothers, Diane Doxtader, Patricia Doxtader and Lea Kaufman and an uncle, Benjamin Bowden, plus numerous other family members and friends. Jonathan was dearly loved by all who knew him.A funeral service will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home located at 2959 North Adrian Hwy. (M-52), Adrian. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton. There will be visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and also on Friday from noon until time of the 2 p.m. service at the funeral home. Pastor Jon Turner is in charge of the service.A dinner and time of remembrance and blessings will follow the service at the Clinton United Methodist Church, 10990 Tecumseh-Clinton Hwy., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
