John Rodriguez, Jr.

John Rodriguez, Jr. age 76, of Tecumseh, passed away May 18, 2015.John was born April 10, 1939 in Cotulla, Texas, the son of Juan Sr. and Beatriz (Garcia) Rodriguez. On April 25, 1965, he married Serafina Garza in San Pedro, Texas. She survives.John was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with Ervin Industries for 23 years. John was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh. John was the 1979 Mid State Rodeo Champion for Calf Roping. He was an avid hunter, loved to farm, fish, tinker and go to farm auctions and casinos. John dearly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed every moment spent with them. In addition to his wife, Serafina, John is survived by two daughters, Melinda (Tim) Davis and Anita (Brad) Faust, both of Tecumseh; son, John (Jennifer) Rodriguez of Adrian; five grandchildren, Donnie Wells, Joshua Davis, Sydney Faust, Chelsea Davis, and Travis Faust; great granddaughter, Kaylee Wells; sister, Mary (Dan) Garcia of Adrian; four brothers, Rudy of Angola, Ind., Robert (Olga) of Phoenix, Ariz., Ray of New Jersey, and Roy (Sharon) of Clayton, Mich.; several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Keith Richardson of Tecumseh.A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honors Guard. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday May 21, 2015, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. A Scripture Service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
