John Clifford Cameron II

John Clifford Cameron II of Wayne died Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.  He was born December 9, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late John Clifford and Katherine Eva (Zillien) Cameron.

John grew up in Tecumseh, Mich.  While going to school, he worked in his father’s business, Cameron Drug Store.  He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1949.  He continued his studies at the University of Michigan graduating, with a degree in Dentistry.  He went on to proudly serve our country as a Captain in the Dental Corps in the U.S. Air Force.  When he returned home, he continued his doctoral studies at the University of Michigan, receiving a degree in Orthodontics.  He was in private practice for over 40 years in Connecticut and later in the Detroit area.  John was a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontics.  He received a liver through the Gift of Life and had a successful transplant in 2005.

John is survived by his life partner, Brenda Billman; his children, John C. (Wendy) Cameron III of Tecumseh, Mich., Jeffrey R. Cameron of Sandy, Utah, Linda D. (Jeffrey) Moss of Boise, Idaho, Stephen J. (Amy) Cameron of Lehi, Utah and Lisa K. C. Hatton of Draper, Utah; his step daughter, Kimberly A. (Alex) Marton of Canton, Mich.; and his sister, Ann S.K. (Robert) Wolters of Olney, Maryland; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes.  Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh with Military honors under the auspices of the Tecumseh American Legion Post #34 and VFW Post #4187.  Memorial contributions can be given to Gift of Life.
