Jacob Levi O’Quinn

Jacob Levi O’Quinn passed away in the Toledo District of Belize on March 14, 2016 at the age of 27.

Jacob is survived by his parents Karen (Ron) Corby, Tommy (Jodi) O’Quinn, Jr., and Erich Austermiller; brothers Austin and Maxwell Austermiller; grandparents, Alice and William Siemers, Tommy and Susan O’Quinn, Sr., Teren Sprow and Darla Austermiller; additional family Amanda, Benjamin, Kaelyn, Kennedy and Kyla Moore, Barbara, Gary, and Katherine Clark, Michael and Hira Dick, Renee, Zack and Zoe Shane, Michael, Amanda, Joanna, Leah, Alyssa and Emily Corby, Heather, David, Mathew, Maria and Elizabeth Sprow, Mark, Marilyn, Roger, Julia, Lee, Lynda and Simon Welter.

Jacob was born in Ann Arbor, Mich., on December 11, 1988. He grew up in Maumee, Ohio prior to moving to Michigan in August of 2000 where he graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2007. Since graduating he has resided in multiple cities within the United States working as a music instructor, carpenter and seafarer. He moved to a small village near Punta Gorda, Belize in August 2015 where he was living as a musician, drum maker and altruist much dedicated to improving the lives of those around him.

Funeral Services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 210 West Pottawatamie Street, Tecumseh, Mich., with Rev. Richard Mortimer officiating.

Visitation also took place on Sunday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Jacob Levi O’Quinn Memorial Fund in support of philanthropic efforts to promote music.
