Irene Maddox

Irene Maddox, age 92, of Tecumseh, passed away peacefully on  January 16, 2018, in her home surrounded by her loving husband and three children.

She was born February 17, 1925 in Mitchell County, N.C., to Seth and Mary (Miller) Hughes. She attended school in Tipton Hills, N.C. She married Allen Glen Maddox in Napol-eon, Ohio, on June 26, 1948 and he survives. She had been a resident of the Adrian area since 1947.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: two daughters, Diane (Armando) Lopez of Vail, Ariz., and Kathy Detloff of Tecumseh; a son, Dale (Ronda) Maddox, of Tecumseh; three brothers, Bill (Nancy) Hughes  of Mountain City, Tenn., Smith (Regina) Hughes, and Dennis Hughes of Green Mountain, N.C.; two sisters, Dorothy (Clifford) Barnett and Mildred (Paul) Peterson of Green Mountain, N.C.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters, and a grandson.

 Visitation for Irene will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian with Pastor Linda Farley officiating.
