TECUMSEH — Errors cost Tecumseh’s varsity softball team a 12-5 loss against visiting Saline on Wednesday, April 27, but coach Jeff Nowak took it all in stride.
“This was one of those games where things didn’t go our way and it seemed like everything did for Saline,” said Nowak. “Give Saline credit for sure, but it didn’t help that we didn’t make plays when we could have.”
He added that his players would remain confident, noting, “Bottom line, we still have played real well this year and this one game doesn’t define who we are.”
It is the only loss the Indians have recorded all season.
Kayla Wild recorded the loss in the circle, allowing three earned runs while striking out six.
Tecumseh was leading 5-2 in the bottom of the third inning and had bases loaded with no outs and failed to score.
In the top of the fourth inning, Saline had a runner on second base with two outs and then scored eight runs (1 earned) with the Indians committing two errors.

Both teams went scoreless in the first inning after each left two runners stranded on the bases.
