Howard Raney Wilson

Howard Raney Wilson, age 76 of Adrian passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 28, 1942 in Royal Oak, Mich. to Charles and Annabelle [Raney] Wilson. He attended Leelanau School and graduated from Mansfield High in May 1960. He went to Ashland College in Ohio and Cleary in Michigan.

On November 22, 1975 he married Nancy Brown at the Britton Congregational Christian Church, and she survives.

Howard was employed by General Motors in the cost accounting department supervising the price costing for three plants in Chicago, Kalamazoo, and Pittsburgh, retiring after 38 years as a supervisor. He worked in Tecumseh, Kalamazoo and Pontiac.

Howard was a member of the Britton Congregational Church and served as treasurer for two years.  In addition he gave much of his time in service updating and maintaining the buildings.  

Woodworking, traveling on his motorcycle on vacations throughout the U.S., spending time with his dogs Brandy and Dusty, were his greatest joys.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Phyllis Hemmer. Surviving are his wife Nancy, son Mark (Valerie) Wilson, stepson Noel (Jennifer) Benedict; grandchildren Matt-hew, Samantha, Kassidy, and Katelin; great-grandchildren Ava, Sophia, and Logan; brother Charles (Vivian) Wilson; sister Sandra (Ron) Sommers; and brother-in-law John Hemmer, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with Rev. James Schenck officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions may be made to Britton Congregational Christian Church, Great Lakes Caring Hospice or the Lenawee County Humane Society.  Condolences may be offered to the family at
