Howard J. Heiden
Howard J. Heiden, age 95 of Britton, Sept. 24, 2015, died at Cambrian Assisted Living Center in Tecumseh. He was born in Raisinville Township July 6, 1920, the son of John and Agnes (Brockman) Heiden. He was a graduate of Dundee High School in 1938 and the Michigan State short course. He then became a milk tester in Lansing. He had farmed his entire life in Raisinville and Ridgeway Townships and also worked at Tecumseh Products until retiring in 1984 after 34 years there. He married Mildred Foster in 1946. She passed away January 18, 1973. He then married Barbara M. Steger March 26, 1977.Survivors include his wife Barbara Heiden; sons Ronald Heiden and James Heiden; daughter Marilyn Welch; stepsons Paul F. Steger, John I. Steger and James D. Steger; stepdaughters Nora Brunt and Mary Mumma; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and stillborn daughter Carol. Funeral services were at the Cover Funeral Home in Dundee, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. Online condolences may be made at www.coverfuneralhome.com.
