Hattie Mae Witt

Hattie Mae Witt, age 98 of Tecumseh, Mich. passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 14, 2020. She was born on December 8, 1921 in Franklin Twp., Mich., a daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Furgason) Boyd. On September 21, 1946 she married Richard “Dick” Witt and they shared over 59 years together before his death in 2006. Hattie worked as a receptionist at R-Bons Hair Salon in Tecumseh which later became Total Image. She loved dancing with her husband Dick for many years and listening to her “Golden Oldies” on WLEN every Friday. Hattie also enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends.

Hattie is survived by her children, Thomas (Jolene) Witt of Tecumseh and Dianne (Edwin) Froelich of Onsted; eight grandchildren and many great- and great-great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, a son-in-law, a
grandson, two brothers and one sister.

A graveside service was held for Hattie on Wednesday June 17, 2020 at Brookside Cemetery with Fred Prezioso officiating. Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee and Lenawee Co. Humane Society.
