Former band director arraigned on charges of sexual conduct
Former Tecumseh High School band director Michael Bough was arraigned Tuesday on one count of second-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and five counts of third-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. His pre-examination hearing was scheduled for August 19 at 1 p.m with his preliminary hearing on August 24 at 1 p.m. in Lenawee District Court. Tecumseh Police, with the assistance from the University of Michigan Police Department, arrested Bough on Friday, Aug. 7, after the Lenawee County Prosecutor's Office issued a six-count felony warrant for the former teacher. Bough is accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student. Bough recently resigned from TPS and a joint press release from the TPS and Tecumseh Police Department on July 29 said the teacher being investigated had also resigned. Bough is being held on a $1.5 million bond. Bough's arraignment was originally scheduled for Monday, but was postponed. All six felonies are punishable by up to 15 years in prison each.
