Elmer Edward Dittmer
Elmer Edward Dittmer, age 76, of Tecumseh, passed away March 22, 2018. He was born March 1, 1942 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Arthur and Eleanor (Dubke) Dittmer.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Barbara Fay Dittmer, whom he married on July 27, 1963.
Elmer was a graduate of Romulus High School, class of 1960. He was a resident of the Tecumseh area since 1975, coming from Westland, Mich.
Elmer was retired from Consumers Power Company with over 40 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by two daughters, Shelly Eaton and Rachel (John) Basile; son, Eric (Angela) Dittmer; grandchildren, Ryan, Meagan, Alex, Adriana, Sarah, Elizabeth and Adam; and sisters, Lorraine Gates, Lois (Frank) Smythe, Violet (William) McMurtry, and Doris Baldwin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, in Tecumseh with Pastor Jeff Barbieri officiating.
A luncheon followed services at Tecumseh VFW Post, 427 N. Evans St., Tecumseh, for friends and family.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday March, 27, 2018 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
