Duane E. Muck

Duane E. Muck, 89 of Adrian, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Lenawee.

He was one of five children, born to Arthur and Beryll (Stecker) Muck on June 7, 1928 in Adrian, Mich.

He graduated in 1946 from Adrian High School and then proudly served his country during the Korean War in the Army from 1952 to 1953.  After his discharge, he remained in the Reserves. For 48 years, Duane worked at the former Bohn Aluminum plant in the tool and die department, retiring in July, 1996. 

On July 20, 1996, he married Linnea Larson at Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene. Duane was active on golf and bowling leagues, as well as softball and track. He was a member of the Michigan Senior Olympics where he was a member of the swim team, individually winning a total to 29 medals, 28 gold and one silver during his lifetime. Playing the guitar and singing were also favorite pastimes of Duane’s. He attended Whiteford Wesleyan Church.

In addition to his wife of 21 years, Linnea, he is survived by his children, Kevin (Rhonda), Randy (Wendy) and Ric Muck, all of Adrian, Rusty (Josie) of Hillsdale; his sister, Iris (Jerry) McDonald; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; the mother of his children, Norma Jean; siblings, Arthur, Robert, twin sister, Delores and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Duane will be 11 am, Monday, July 3, 2017 at Whiteford Wesleyan Church, 10285 Sylvania-Petersburg Road, Ottawa Lake, Mich., 49267 with Pastor Rick Deisler officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Adrian. Full military rites will be conducted by the Annis-Flint Post No. 1584 and the American Legion Post No. 97 of Adrian.  Visitation for Duane will be Sunday, July 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian.
