Doris Irene Mohr
Doris Irene Mohr, age 96 of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 at Cambrian Assisted Living with her family by her side. She was born April 8, 1921 in Macon to the late John and Lila (Murphy) Wintersteen. On July 3, 1943 she married Robert Mohr and he preceded her in death.
Doris was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tecumseh. She worked at Charlie Hanna Insurance in Tecumseh. She then took a position at the Clinton Post Office as a clerk and later became the post master. Doris was an avid card player and an accomplished artist.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Vicky (Jon) Sweet of Clinton, Cindy (Kelvin) Bennett of Coldwater and Jo (Scott) Mack of Tecumseh; one sister, Marjorie Bryan of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Jay, Roberta, Jessica, Ryan and Lindsay and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Aileen Tarbe and Marie Alico.
In accordance with Doris’s wishes her services were private. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Hospice of Lenawee.
