David Wayne Weakly

David Wayne Weakly of Escondido, Calif., died on July 8, at age 75, from complications of a stroke and sepsis. He had long suffered from chronic Muscular Sclerosis.  David was the son of Harry and Margaret (Dolly) Weakly, who were longtime residents of Tecumseh, Mich. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Kathleen (Nissen) and Linda (Hendricks).

He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Ferris of Escondido and two grandchildren. He also lost an infant son at birth. David is also survived by his brothers Hal of Monroe, Mich., and Jon of Payson, Ariz.

Dave was a 1960 graduate of Tecumseh High School where he was a star athlete in football, basketball and track.

He served three years in the U.S. Army following high school and was a graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.

After college he migrated to California and lived there for the rest of his life. The majority of his career was spent in restaurant management and sales. He contracted MS in his forties and was unable to work for many years thereafter. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and extended family members.
