Daniel L. Snelling

Daniel L. Snelling, age 81, of Adrian, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. He was born January 26, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., to Thomas P. and Beatrice L. (Neveaux) Snelling. 

Daniel served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard from 1956 until 1962. On October 22, 1966, he married Anna Rose Balazs. His loving wife of 37 years preceded him in death on May 29, 2004.

He was a quality control supervisor with General Motors until his retirement in 1990.

Daniel was a member of North Rome Baptist Church.  His passion was watching football, especially the Lions, and dooming his two sons into lifelong Lions Fans.

Daniel enjoyed being at the lake, listening to Rock & Roll Music, playing cards and spending time with family and friends at Sunny’s campground in Wauseon, Ohio.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas M. (Deanna Kempke) Snelling of Ypsilanti and Christopher L. (Amy) Snelling of Tecumseh; one daughter, Linda Kraus of Toledo, Ohio; three grandsons, Oliver Kempke Snelling, Julian Kempke Snelling and Aaron Snelling; four granddaughters, Teri Tomesek, Elizabeth (Eliza) Snelling, Emma Snelling and Ava Snelling; three great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Aislyn, and Ethan; and one sister, Jeannene Borzymowski of Appleton, Wis. 

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Daniel were held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at North Rome Baptist Church with Pastor Fritz Kruse officiating. Burial was in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.

Visitation was on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation was also held on Wednesday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service at North Rome Baptist Church.
