Croswell director sends thanks for record- breaking 2015 season

To the Editor,As many of your readers may already know, this was a record-breaking summer for the Croswell Opera House! Our summer season attendance this year was the highest it’s been since 1998, and as we move into fall, I wanted to take a moment to thank the people who make everything we do possible. Before every show, the spectacular sets and costumes you see on stage are built by a team of talented carpenters, painters, seamstresses and prop makers. From the magic tricks in “Mary Poppins” to the dancing elephants in “Big Fish,” if you saw it on stage, somebody had to build it!Our volunteer actors put countless hours and late nights into rehearsals — and for the younger set, we can’t forget the parents who shuttle them back and forth, buy makeup, help out backstage and cheerfully put up with all the craziness the theater brings into their lives. The professional musicians who play in our orchestras lend an authenticity to the live theater experience that simply can’t be duplicated with recorded sound. We’re fortunate to have so many talented performers in our community. Many dedicated Croswell friends volunteer their time to serve as usher, ticket taker, door greeter and more. Any time you come to a show, they’re here to make your visit more enjoyable. And finally, our patrons! You came through our doors in record numbers this summer, and we’re so glad to have you as part of the Croswell family! To all of our friends… thank you, thank you, thank you! We couldn’t do it without you. And as we head into our fall and winter special event season, we hope to see you soon!Jere Righterartistic director,Croswell Opera House
