Community pool teaches more than just swimming basics
To the Editor,
I am writing to ask that the citizens of Tecumseh vote in favor of the renewal of the Community Pool millage on March 8, 2016. This pool is a precious resource that impacts the lives of our community on a daily basis.
My husband, six children, and I have been involved with various programs at the pool for the last nine years. During this time the pool has taught my kids more than just the basics of swimming. They have learned how to face challenges and not give up in the face of them. They made friends they will have for a lifetime. They have learned how to save a life and taught other children the skills necessary to save their own. More recently they, along with their teammates, learned how to mourn and support each other during the tragic loss of a friend.
The pool means so much more to this community than its four walls and the water contained within. Please, vote yes.
