Clinton in three-way tie after loss to Madison

Clinton’s varsity boys basketball team lost a shot at an outright Tri-County Conference title with a 43-27 loss at Madison on Friday, Feb. 13,The Redskins moved into a three-way tie with Madison and Morenci with a conference record of 9-2 (11-4 overall).“We did well enough on D, but had our worst offensive showing of the season,” said Clinton coach Mike Ruhl. “No choice but to go back to working hard and finish what we’ve started.”Jared Sackett totaled 19 points to lead Clinton’s offense.The Redskins beat Whiteford 69-66 in its previous contest on Tuesday, Feb. 10.Clinton was down by 11 points with less than five minutes remaining in the game.Ryan Karapas had 23 points and six rebounds for Clinton; Ryon Luzier, 22 points, six rebounds and three blocks; Collin Poore, 14 points; and Jared Sackett, 10 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.
