Clifford “Sonny” Adkins

Clifford “Sonny” Adkins, age 80, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his home. He was born December 12, 1935, in West Virginia, to Bill and Polly Ann (Brown) Adkins.  On May 13, 1990, he married Patricia Ann (Detwiler) Tripp and she survives. Sonny retired from Tecumseh Products Company after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Bethany Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, casinos and auctions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jim Adkins and Cliff Adkins; seven stepchildren, Chester (LeAnn) Tripp, Jeff (Sarra) Tripp, Greg (Lisa) Tripp, Judi (Jeff) Knabusch, Christina (Ron) Bechtol, Chene (Sherie) Tripp and Bryan (Stacy) Tripp; a special ex-daughter-in-law, Susan Lolley; one brother, Harold Adkins; two sisters, Dorothy Overton and Garnett (Jay) Adkins; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

Funeral services for Sonny were held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Assembly of God Church with Reverend Rob Burkart and Linda Brown officiating. Burial was in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. 

Visitation was held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian.
