CISTA receives support for ‘Food Pack’ program

To the Editor,The Tecumseh Arbor of Gleaners Life Insurance Society and Communities In Schools of the Tecumseh Area have been in partnership for several years. This marks the fourth year Gleaners, Communities In Schools of the Tecumseh Area (CISTA) and community members have put together Friday Food Packs (FFPs) in record time. Almost 375 FFPs were assembled and ready for future delivery in under an hour! CISTA is fortunate to be in a community with amazing support! The Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh has supported the program since its inception and continues to donate food on a weekly basis.Friday Food Packs are weekly nutritional supplements given to identified students in need throughout the school year, generally consisting of six to seven snacks each week. Food and monetary contributions were provided by Tecumseh Arbor of Gleaner Life Insurance Society, Kiwanis Club of Tecumseh, Lenawee Fuels and other anonymous community donors. The ongoing support allows CISTA the opportunity to grow; serving more students meeting them at their level of need. Communities In Schools of the Tecumseh Area is very grateful for contributions of food and time that support the FFP program.Thank You!Rhonda Tinsley, Tecumseh Acres site coordinator, CISTA
