Carrie Ann Ashley Bourns

Carrie Ann Ashley Bourns, age 71, of Ann Arbor, formerly of Tecumseh, Mich., went to be with Our Lord peacefully surrounded by her beloved family January 10, 2016. Carrie was born November 10, 1944 in Tecumseh the daughter of Charles and Emma (Proctor) Dinius that preceded her in passing. She graduated from Tecumseh High School, class of 1963. She married Gary Gordon Bourns April 4, 1964 in Ridgeway, Mich. She was a dedicated faithful wife and mother for her family above all. She was active with 4-H and Lenawee County community organizations for many years. She was a loyal member of her church congregations living a life of faith and service. She was employed by the Evangelical Homes of Michigan in Saline and also served the elderly at home.

She is the most beloved mother of Charles G. Bourns of Dyersburg, Tenn., Dr. Scott G. Bourns of Menifee, Calif., and Edward H. Bourns of Ann Arbor, Mich. She is also survived by the following; her grandsons Mr. Brandon and Kristen Bourns of Brighton Mich., Mr. Dustin and Haley Bourns of Blissfield, Mich.; great-grandsons Gabriel and Van Bourns; her sisters James and Connie Furgason of Clinton, Dennis and Sherry Bryan of Tecumseh and her brother Thomas and Debbie Dinius of Tecumseh.  She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins holding her heart dear. She will be eternally missed, but never forgotten by all who were privileged to be touched by her life and love.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home in Tecumseh with Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 at the funeral home and one hour preceding the service on Saturday.
