Carol Marie Ivan

Carol Marie Ivan, age 76 of Tecumseh died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital with her family by her side. She was born July 23, 1943 in Tecumseh, the daughter of the late Gordon and Marie (Filter) Greiman. On May 1, 1990 in Las Vegas, she married Anthony Ivan and he preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2013.

Carol owned her own beauty shop, The Carousel in Clinton for many years, and later went to work with Sharon Eddinger at the Wee He and She. Carol worked as a manager at Busch’s in Tecumseh and Clinton in the deli and seafood department and at Schmidt and Sons as a cashier until having to retire due to her health. Carol loved golf, playing at Macon Golf Course years ago and spent a lot of time playing tournaments and won many trophies. She had a love for all sports but enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and collecting their memorabilia. She loved her two cats who were very special to her. Carol’s great love was for her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her son, Darin L (Debbie) Hunt of Lapeer, their children, Kendra and Brandan Hunt of Tecumseh; daughter, Kimberly (Tim) Murphy of Tecumseh, their children,  Alicia Miller and her children, Zackary Williamson and Eladio Martinez of Adrian, John, Hannah and Jacob Murphy and their five children; four step children, Pamela (Michael) Goetz and their children, Tiffany, her daughter Evelynn, Travis and Taylor of Stockbridge, Troy (Ikuko) Ivan and their children, Joy, Anthony and Marie of Longmont, Colorado, Robin DeSalvo and Theresa Mullert both of Washington; a sister, Virginia Walters of Tecumseh, her children, Mark Walters, Tracy Kowalewski and Jeff Walters; sister-in- law, Judy Greiman and her children, Christopher Greiman and Tara Green.  In addition to her parents, Gordon and Marie and husband Anthony, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Greiman.

In accordance to Carol’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Carol will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the care of the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Condolences may be offered to the family at handlerfuneralhomes.com.
