Carlton Lee Cook

Carlton Lee Cook passed away on February 20, 2019. He was born on August 23,1926 to Leon and Ethel Cook of White Pigeon, Michigan. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Michigan Medical School in 1952. He married Lynelle Eloise Bales in August 13, 1950 and she proceeded him in death in November 2012.  After an internship at Saint Lawrence Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, the couple moved to Tecumseh, Michigan where he set up a family medical practice.

They had six children Pat (Harvey) Schmidt, Cathy Cook (William Klasner), April (Dan) Gunder, Jennifer (Dale) Aldrich, William (Pat) Cook, Margaret (Lloyd) Miller. He has 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his dear friend Sally Whelan.

He has been an active member of the community including, elder and choir member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh, Tecumseh Kiwanis Club, Tecumseh Players, Tecumseh City Council, Croswell Opera House, Hospice of Lenawee Board and with his wife Lynelle, was the first recipient of the Musgrove Evans Award in 1989.

Visitation will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh at 211 W. Chicago Blvd. on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. with a memorial service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh or Hospice of Lenawee.
